According to MMAFighting.com, Kevin Casey and Robert Drysdale failed post fight drug test after UFC 175. Kevin Casey was busted for the anabolic steroid drostanolone. Robert Drysdale got busted for elevated levels of testosterone, Drysdale was alsodenied a fight license in mid-2013 because of out of competition drug test the show way to high levels of testosterone.
Both men won their fights, Casey by knock out and Drysdale by submission. Maybe it is time that fighters that gets knocked out or hurt in fights with dopers, sues their opponents for real cash. It is time cheaters get a real punishment for their actions and a very long suspension like several years. Specially fighters who use steroids, because the effect from their use might benefit them for a decade or maybe longer.
The UFC statement on the matter
“The UFC has been notified by the Nevada State Athletic Commission that UFC middleweight Kevin Casey and light heavyweight Robert Drysdale failed drug tests following their fights at UFC 175 and The Ultimate Fighter Finale, respectively. Casey tested positive for drostanolone and Drysdale was flagged for an elevated testosterone-to-epitestosterone ratio. Both fighters have been temporarily suspended from competition and informed their positive tests violated the UFC Fighter Conduct Policy and Promotional Agreement with Zuffa, LLC. The UFC has a strict, consistent policy against the use of any illegal and/or performance-enhancing drugs, stimulants or masking agents by our athletes and will support the NSAC’s determination pending a formal hearing at a later date.”
